Heritage High School in Broadlands, IL in Southeast Champaign County (25 minutes from Champaign-Urbana) has an opening for a secondary mathematics teacher for grades 9-12. Heritage High School enjoys the demographics of drawing students from small semi-rural communities in Champaign, Douglas, and Vermilion Counties with very manageable class sizes. The student population is projected at 150 students for 2019-2020 school year. The high school offers courses ranging from Algebra I to Calculus with primary teaching responsibilities for this position to include classes in Pre-Algebra, Algrebra I, Geometry, and Consumer Math. A culture of collaboration has been established throughout the high school. Heritage HS has a strong technology base with Promethean interactive whiteboards in all classrooms and Chromebooks are widely utilized throughout the school on Wifi available throughout building on a fiber optic Internet connection.

Illinois teacher licensure in the appropriate content area
Salary is regionally competitive in accordance with the HEA collective bargaining agreement and starting salary for 1st year teacher is currently $39,724. The school district recognizes years of service when placing teachers with experience on the salary schedule. Salary is based on experience and education level. The school district pays 95% of the employee’s single healthcare insurance premiums through Health Alliance IERMP. Tuition reimbursement is available for advanced education up to $800 per year. Heritage CUSD #8 pairs new teachers within an established mentoring program guided by veteran mentor teachers.
