Heritage HS Daily Announcements

02/25/2020 Announcements:

  1. Parents: As a reminder, any student that misses 5 consecutive days due to illness must bring a doctor’s note in with them when they return to school giving reason for their absence, otherwise the absence will be considered unexcused.
  2. Student Reminder: A reminder for all students that your cell phones should be in your lockers during the school day (this includes during passing periods). You may have them out ONLY at lunch time. If a teacher/staff member sees you with your phone on you other than at lunch time, you will receive a cell phone violation.
  3. Villa Grove will be hosting a dance on Saturday, 2/22 from 7-10pm in the Villa Grove HS gym. All Villa Grove and Heritage students are welcome to attend. You may bring a date from another school, just be sure to pick up a permission slip from the HS office. The cost is $5.00 per person.
  4. Parkland assessment testing for incoming Parkland freshman, prior ECCA and Dual Credit students will be on 3/24 starting at 8:30am. Paperwork for ECCA and Dual Credit along with your Parkland application must be done prior to testing.
  5. Heritage Post Prom Bowl Night will be on Saturday, 3/21 at 8:30pm. This is for adults ages 18 and up, no students! Space is limited. If you are interested, you can pick up a form in the HS office.
  6. Any senior going to Parkland who needs to take either the English or Math assessments must sign up in the office. Test will be 3/24. Students must make a Alek account for the math assessment. Any sophomore or junior taking dual credit classes for next year also need to sign up.
  7. Attention students and community members! The annual HHS Food Drive will begin March 30th and run through April 3rd.
  8. The National Honor Society packets are due by February 28th at 3:30pm.
  9. Washington, D.C. traverlers, the airport shuttle will be leaving Broadlands at 3:15am on Sunday, March 15, and then from Homer at 3:40am. Please be there ten minutes before the departure time with your carry-on backpack and your state-issued ID. Students will not be allowed on the shuttle without the supplied carry-on bag and their ID.
  10. Washington, D.C. student travelers will need to have their checked bag/luggage to the high school by noon on Thursday, March 12. Your checked bag will be searched by the trip chaperones, then locked and secured in a room. The luggage will then be loaded on Sunday, March15, in the airport shuttle. You will not have access to your luggage until we land in Washington, D.C. If you have questions or concerns, please see Mrs. J.Mohr or email at mohr@heritage8.org.
  11. The softball team is looking for a full time manager. You would be asked to attend ALL games (home and away). Please see Mrs. Knott if you are interested.
  12. Any junior or senior interested in taking the ASVAB this year, please see Mrs. Knott. We need at least 10 to offer the test at our school.
  13. The Art Club meeting will be TODAY during lunch! Art club t shirts will be available for pick up! WE will also be discussing points and set design.
