March 25, 2019

Dear Parents/Guardians:

It is hard to believe we are at the start of fourth quarter for 2018-2019. Here are just a few reminders as we enter spring at Heritage Elementary/JH School.

PTC Bingo Night Fundraiser: A reminder that on Friday, April 5, 2019, Heritage PTC will be hosting a Bingo Night at Heritage Elementary/JH School starting at 6 pm.  You can have fun playing Bingo, bidding on silent auction items and enjoy grabbing some pizza by the slice, nachos, soda, water and/or candy for dinner.  Silent auction items include: pool passes, gift certificates, Elevate passes, and much more.  Check out all the details on the Heritage PTC Facebook page!

Early Dismissals:  Due to curriculum work, State testing, Spring Break and Prom, we will be having early dismissals in April.

April 5, 2019 – 11:15 a.m.

April 9, 2019 – 12:15 p.m. (note the time!)

April 17,2019 – 1:15 p.m.

April 18-22, 2019 – Spring Break

April 26, 2019 – 11:15 a.m

Illinois Assessment of Readiness: The IAR is a federally required measure of student mastery of the Illinois Learning Standards in English language arts and mathematics in grades 3 through 8. This assessment replaces PARCC. While the assessment name has been changed, ISBE has provided information that the content and standards will look very much the same. The following is the testing schedule for Heritage Elementary 3rd-5th grade. Please try to avoid scheduling absences and appointments during this time. Make sure kids have a great start to their day with a nutritious breakfast!

April 1-5, 2019

Weather Reminder: As the season changes, we are looking forward to warmer weather in the forecast! Please remind your child to dress in layers as students will be going outside on most school days starting now and through the end of the year. Chilly mornings often give way to beautiful afternoons, but it helps to wear a coat, sweater or sweatshirt during this transitional time.

Looking forward to a busy, productive quarter. Hope to see you all at Bingo night!
