Character Trait of the Month: Honesty
There is a sign-up sheet in the office for any 8th grader wanting to go out for HS Basketball Cheerleading.
There is a sign-up sheet in the office for anyone wanting to go out for JH Girls Basketball next year.
There are flyers in the office at Homer for any girl going into 3rd-8th grade next year who might be interested in participating in a Summer Softball Camp.
There is a JH Cross Country sign- up sheet in office for any 5-8th grader interested in participating in Cross Country next year. There will be a parent/student meeting TODAY, 5/22 at 5:30 PM in the old gym to discuss the 2019 season. Please use the west doors.
Coach Gerard will be having “open driving range” this summer for anyone interested in playing VGH golf in the fall. Please stop by the office to pick up further information.
Fun Day will be held on Thursday, May 23rd. We would like to encourage each class to come to school this day dressed in the same color of shirt to help keep classes together. The following is a list of class colors: K- Red; 1st – Green; 2nd – Yellow; 3rd – White; 4th – Grey; 5th – Blue; 6th – Orange; and 7th – Purple.
There is currently a student at our school who is working on her Girl Scout Silver Award. She is working to gather old and unused clothing items and donate them to those in need. If you would like to donate your clothing, there is currently a box at the Elementary/Junior High School. It is placed by the lost and found in the multipurpose gym. You may send items with your child or drop them off yourself. Thank you
Please check your child’s STI account to keep up with student progress as midterms/report cards will not be printed and sent home. If you are unable to access your child’s account please contact the office for a paper copy.
As a reminder to parents of bus riders: There should be NO food or beverages brought on the bus for any reason at any time.
NO vehicles are permitted in the circle drive where buses drop off in the morning or afternoon.
Please remember to be cautious and courteous when dropping students off in the front parking lot. You should not pass vehicles and make sure to pay close attention to students exiting vehicles and entering our building.
Please remember that if you wish to speak with a teacher or staff member regarding your student’s classroom performance, you must schedule an appointment for a meeting. Daily classroom activities are held to a tight schedule and unplanned interruptions may negatively affect academic success in the classroom.
Please call ahead if planning to eat lunch with your student. Parents can come 1x/semester.
If sending in snack or treats for a class, please remember no home-baked goods can be shared. All items must be pre-packaged and in store box containers.
If your student will be gone for a doctor’s appointment, please have him/her bring a note from the doctor upon returning to school to show that they were there. Otherwise the absence will be marked unexcused by the school.
The price for student lunches at the Elementary/JH building at Heritage for the 2018-19 school year will be $2.15. Adult lunches will be sold for $2.90.
